Walking offers a unique perspective when it comes to capturing and absorbing wildlife encounters and if it's remoteness and intimacy that you seek, then this itinerary will be difficult to beat. From the Luangwa, the most inact major river system in Africa, to the UNESCO-worthy floodplains of the Zambezi, to the natural wonder of the Victoria Falls, this trip will have you captivated from start to finish.

SAMPLE ITINERARY - 10 DAYS

Day 1-3 - In terms of walking, you safari starts at a slower pace with the majestic Victoria Falls. We did say 'walking' however, because your days here can be action-packed if you'd like them to be. After settling in to your award-winning accommodation, you'll be at your leisure to plan your activities. You could go all out with a bungee jump or elephant ride, or you could stick to that 'slower pace' we talked about and opt for a helicopter flight over the falls or sunset boat cruise on the Upper Zambezi. Totally up to you :).

Day 4-6 - As we enter the back straight of your safari, we'll kick things up a notch and have you board a private charter flight to Mana Pools, a flight that will see you fly over the Batoka Gorge and the vast expanses of Lake Kariba. Once in Mana, the focus will be on walking and the guides here are second to none. This static camp exudes rustic luxury and its point of difference is that each stay is fully customisable. You just let us know what interests you (mammals, dendrology, birds, fishing etc.) and we'll make it happen.

Day 7-10 - Impala, pulu, leopards, lion, massive elephant and buffalo herds - you'll see them all whilst walking in the South Luangwa in Zambia's northeast. You'll be able to choose from a selection of lodges here and each has its own distinctive flair. If tracking lions on foot would be the perfect end to your safari, check out the beautiful Luwi. Excited about a sleepout under the stars? Try Nsolo. Or perhaps prolific predator action combined with 5 star luxury is more your thing? Welcome to Chinzombo. Regardless of your preferences, walking is offered at all of the camps and we think that you'll love discovering the Valley of the Leopard.
